Finalist Feelings – What It Means to Be Recognised at the Fresh Awards

When the email arrived saying Bek’s Bloomz was a finalist for Studio Florist of the Year, I’ll admit… I had to read it twice. Then came the butterflies. Then came the tears. Because whether we walk away with the trophy or not, being recognised in this way is such a beautiful moment to pause, reflect, and celebrate the journey.

🌿 The Process
Being part of the NSW Fresh Awards means putting your heart and business on the table — literally. The application dives deep into your work ethic, your brand, your creative vision, and how you connect with your customers and community.
It’s vulnerable, exciting and a powerful chance to look back and go: “Wow. Look how far we’ve come.”

I spent time revisiting our story, gathering testimonials from our beautiful customers, and sharing the behind-the-scenes of what makes Bek’s Bloomz unique. It’s not always easy to slow down and reflect, but the process reminded me just how much love and grit goes into this little studio of mine.

💐 How We Prepared
This season, we’ve been intentional about soaking up the moments — from creating meaningful arrangements to celebrating every kind word from our community.
I also took time to get organised for the awards night itself:

• A beautiful outfit that feels me
• A printed thank-you card and mini speech (just in case!)
• A little gift to myself (because win or not, showing up is worth honouring)
• And most importantly — bringing a heart full of gratitude and pride.

✨ How to Celebrate (Even If You Don’t Win)
Winning is wonderful. But being a finalist? That in itself is huge.

Celebrate the fact that your work is seen.
Celebrate the growers, the customers, the late nights, and the quiet resilience it’s taken to get here.
And most of all, celebrate the courage it takes to put yourself forward.

Awards aren’t just about titles — they’re a mirror to the love you pour into your craft every single day. And if you’re reading this as someone thinking of applying next year — do it. The process alone is worth it.
